The Art Museum of South Texas

Art Museum of South TexasConstruction is now complete with the 25 kilowatt solar photovoltaic (PV) system on the roof of the Art Museum of South Texas in Corpus Christi, TX. Hill Country Ecopower, a leading integrator of renewable energy systems in Texas, was honored to install the solar array to commemorate the 41st Earth Day.

Funded by the Green Mountain Energy Company, this project will now allow the sun to partially power the museum in an effort to reduce energy costs and educate visitors on the benefits of solar energy. “Energy costs are a major expense for the Art Museum and we look forward to realizing the savings from this solar array” said Joe Schenk, Director of the Art Museum.

The solar panels will produce more than 35,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per year and negate over 42,000 pounds of carbon dioxide each year. The system was also specially engineered by Hill Country Ecopower to withstand a direct hurricane hit from the Gulf. With the two-month project completed without a hitch, all parties involved expressed extreme gratitude with Hill Country Ecopower’s unique design and installation endeavors.
